Decision Framework
Wanderlust treats destination choice as a multi-variable decision rather than a list of attractive cities. Candidate locations are evaluated against budget, duration, transportation, connectivity, local risk, seasonal conditions, visa or passport requirements, and access to essential services.

Preference Modeling
The framework can encode preferences such as smaller cities, walkability, cultural interest, avoiding unnecessarily high-risk areas, and limiting long offline periods. These preferences become reusable filters instead of being rediscovered for each trip.

Budget Layer
Annual and trip-level budgets can be broken into lodging, transport, food, local mobility, communications, insurance, and contingency. Comparing destinations on total lived cost gives a more realistic view than airfare or nightly hotel price alone.

Itinerary Construction
Once a destination passes the constraints, the framework can build routes around travel time, recovery days, local transportation, and the amount of movement desired. It can favor deeper stays over constant relocation when that creates a better experience.

Long-Term Use
Wanderlust can evolve into a scored destination database with seasonality, prior-trip notes, cost history, and preferred routes. The result is a personal travel decision system rather than a collection of disconnected itineraries.
